Mill River Music

Working closely with a local business owner to realize their vision.

The existing brick building at 135 King Street dates from the early 1900s, selling Packard automobiles in the first part of the 20th century. We worked with the owners to retain as much original character in the building while adding a timber frame mezzanines throughout to increase the interior usable space by 20%.

Brewer Brook

Studying surroundings to create a light-filled studio.

We looked at the existing rooflines of this 70’s home, the encroaching tree line of the hickory and fir forest, and solar paths to create a space for the experience of sunlight in this workshop addition for a regional textile artist.

the Audrain Building

Helping bring an historic building to its full potential.

Prior to forming Meetinghouse, we worked from conceptual renderings and precedent photos of turn-of-the-century elevators to plan and execute a series of ornate, historically-inspired metalwork projects—including the period elevator cage—for the lobby of this landmark building in downtown Newport.
