“A contemporary addition with rustic charm”

After a tree fell on this old house, it became an opportunity to start fresh.

In March of 2024, heavy snowfall caused a large white pine to fall through the sleeping wing of a 1880s home in the Berkshires. The vaulted bedroom space and loft were knocked off of their foundation and the sky was visible through a 4’ wide hole peak to ground.

We designed a new sleeping wing with the historic details of the original house and some added modern charm. Historic timbers were salvaged and reused on the loft.
